Maria Isabel Rosas Garcia, MD
Biography:
Dr. Rosas completed medical school in 2002 in Caracas, Venezuela, graduating with honors from the Universidad Central de Venezuela Luis Razetti Escuela de Medicina. She received the Lorenzo Campis y Ballester diploma and medal for excellence in academics, awarded to the top three students of the 2002 class. Dr. Rosas worked for a year in a rural underserved community in Venezuela as a general physician. She then pursued both her pediatric residency and pediatric infectious diseases and immunology fellowship at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, Florida.
In 2017, Dr. Rosas joined KIDZ Pediatric Multispecialty Center in Naples as its first local pediatric infectious disease specialist. She previously worked at a busy private practice in Houston, Texas, that provided inpatient consultation services to eight community hospitals and outpatient services to three clinics.
Dr. Rosas is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both general pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was named Top Doctor 2016 in Pediatric Infectious Disease by the Houstonia Magazine, and 2016 Texas Super Doctors Rising Stars in Pediatric Infectious Disease by Texas Monthly Magazine. Dr. Rosas is fluent in English and Spanish.
