KIDZ Medical Services’ (KIDZ) pediatric hospitalists are board-certified pediatricians who specialize in the medical care of infants, children, and teens while in the hospital setting. As the admitting physician, the pediatric hospitalist coordinates your child's medical care during his or her hospital stay. Having a hospitalist care for your child offers extended on-site attending physician availability as well as clinical experience and expertise in the medical management of your child’s condition.
The pediatric hospitalist's activities focus on patient care, teaching, and leadership related to hospital care.
Pediatric Hospitalist's Responsibilities
- Directing the overall medical care of your child while he or she is in the hospital
- Coordinating input from consultants/specialists
- Confirming that you and your child understand the information from all consultants
- Planning for discharge from the hospital
- Efficiently using inpatient resources
- A commitment to improving systems of care within the hospital setting
The hospitalist stays in direct communication with your child's primary care physician and integrates input from the specialists and other ancillary providers that may be involved in your child's care in order to give him or her the best medical care possible.
Prior to discharge, the hospitalist communicates with the primary care physician to ensure that all necessary medical information gets transmitted for proper follow-up care. The KIDZ pediatric hospitalists are committed to providing excellent care for your child.
