Jorge Galvez Silva, MD
Biography:
Dr. Jorge Galvez Silva is a pediatric Hematologist / Oncologist in KIDZ Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. At this facility, Dr. Galvez Silva provides state-of-the art care using novel technologies that involve stem cells for the treatment of non-malignant and malignant pediatric conditions including acquired and inherited bone marrow failure syndrome.
He received his medical degree from Faculty of Medical Sciences, Autonomous University of Honduras. Dr. Galvez Silva completed his pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. He then completed his pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Galvez Silva also completed a comprehensive pediatric stem cell transplant fellowship at the Masonic Children’s Hospital in the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Galvez Silva is one of the founding members of the newly created Florida Pediatric Bone Marrow and Cellular Therapy Consortium, which leads clinical research in pediatric transplant in Florida along with other pediatric transplant institutions.
