Nicole M. Echeverri, DNP, APRN
Biography:
Nicole M. Echeverri, DNP, MSN, APRN-FNP-BC is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at KIDZ Medical Services, specializing in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the University of Florida in 2008, where she was awarded Magna Cum Laude honors and went on to earn a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education at the University of Miami in 2012. Later, she went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama.
Nicole began her nursing career as a Pediatric RN at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, before moving to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She worked at Nicklaus for over nine years in a variety of roles including as a Pediatric RN in the Inpatient Hematology/Oncology department and in the Outpatient Infusion Care Center. She also served as the Interim Clinic Coordinator in the Outpatient Infusion Unit and as the Interim Manager in the Oncology Survivorship Program. At Nicklaus, Nicole was awarded the 2012 “RN of the Year” and received the Blue Chip Service Award in 2014. From 2011-2014, she served as the Chair of the Evidence-Based Practice Committee at Nicklaus. Most recently, she has worked at the Miami Cancer Institute as a Nurse Practitioner in the Malignant Hematology Department.
Nicole is board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also certified as a Registered Nurse in Florida and is a Nationally Certified Pediatric Nurse. Additionally, Nicole is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life support, and she is a certified Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider.
Nicole has been a member of the Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurses since 2008 and the American Society of Hematology since 2019. She served as a presenter at the Baptist Annual Research Conference in Miami and also at the APHON Conference in Anaheim, CA. Nicole has also served as the Chair of the Malignant Hematology/BMT APP Council at the Miami Cancer Institute. She recently served as President of the South Florida Chapter of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses from 2012-2019.
